Over the past six years our family traditions have changed. When your child is gone it feels so different to carry on and celebrate. I remember the first time I belly laughed after she had died, I felt so guilty - like I was supposed to be mourning her and not having any fun.
Soon, though, I realized that my daughter loved laughter and family togetherness at any time but for some reason she loved Thanksgiving so very much, AND loved gravy. I don't mean she put some on her mashed potatoes: I mean she had her own gravy boat, just for her. She would pour gravy on her taters and even drink it...
