State Champion FFCHS Trojan JROTC Rifle Precision Team Defends Colorado CMP State Championship

Colorado CMP State Champion Fountain-Fort Carson JROTC Rifle Precision Team members, include, from the left, Leah Stapp, Nomar Oyola, Angelina Tinerow, Marisol Wentling, Rosita Garcia, Jeff Rael, Eljer Wandasan, Zander Santin, Anders Slagle, Thomas Anderson, Courtney Allison, Meghan Confer, Tyler Nelson, Michael Guy and Sergeant Major Rod Smith.

The Fountain-Fort Carson High School Precision Air Rifle, coming off their 9th state JROTC Championship last month, team successfully defended their Colorado Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Junior State Championship (2nd Year in a row) and placed 3rd at CMP Rocky Mountain Regionals with a score of 2302 at the (CMP) Rocky Mountain Regional Championships Dec. 6 and 7 at Carson Middle School.

Marisol Wentling is shown participating in the CMP competition.

The competition featured school and club programs from across six different states. The Trojans shot 2295.

Notable performances included but were not limited to: Angelina Ayala (1st place in Sporter Age Group 3), Marisol Wentling (2nd place in Individual Precision), Leah Stapp (3rd place in Individual Precision),

and Angelina Tinerow (4th place in Individual Precision.) Notable JROTC State Championship performances included but were not limited to: Marisol Wentling (Individual State Champion - Precision Air Rifle), Leah Stapp and Angelina Tinerow (Precision Pair State Champions.)
