Fountain Valley Sports Wrap-Up

There was limited local sports action last week as most teams had already finished their pre-break schedule.
BOYS GO 0-1
The Grizzlies lost 65-49 to Discovery Canyon at home last Tuesday.
The Grizzlies finished the pre-break schedule 1-6. Mesa Ridge returns to action Tuesday, Jan. 7, 202 when play at Harrison in their Class 4A Colorado Springs Metro League opener.
The Glads wrapped up their pre-break schedule by dropping a 82-77 decision at Pueblo West last Tuesday.
Widefield finished its pre-break schedule 2-4.
Widefield only trailed Pueblo West 66-60 at the end of the third quarter. The Glads outscored the hosts 17-16 in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.
Randall Days led Widefield with 36 points. Tim Mewborn added 12 points.
BOYS GO 2-1
The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans beat Grand Junction 97-65 Saturday, lost 57-54 to Columbine Friday and defeated Poudre 83-58 Thursday at the Columbine Classic.
Fountain-Fort Carson finished the pre-break schedule 6-4
The Trojans led Poudre 39-18 at halftime. The Trojans never looked back.
Keyshawn Maltbia led FFCHS with 31 points. Isaiah Thompson added 13 points, Greg Beatty 11 points and Divante Lynch 10 points. Thompson and Maltbia each grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Trojans return to action Saturday, Jan. 3, 2020 when they host Pine Creek in their Class 5A Colorado Springs Metro League opener.
The Widefield wrestling team won a home dual with Vista Ridge, 39-33, last Wednesday.
