How German-born Frank Lewis came full circle in his career with police

Frank Lewis's story began in Germany in 1963 when he was born to an African-American father and a German mother. He grew up mostly in racially tense Detroit, Michigan, eventually getting into police work there.

Today, Lewis serves as the second-in-command at the Fountain Police Department – something he never could have predicted for his life.

"It truly was a leap of faith," he said.

Police Chief Chris Heberer describes Lewis as a one-of-a-kind, the sort of guy co-workers and children and even other officials can't help but admire. His quiet leadership was evident after only a short time...
