Photos from the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department show a variety of work taking place in the local construction industry this year, from newly framed single-family homes (above), to electrical inspections of a breaker box (below) and inspections of plumbing systems.

It was another booming year for construction and growth in the Pikes Peak Region.

Pikes Peak Regional Building permit numbers showed strong growth in both residential and commercial construction.

In 2019, there were 3,982 new single-family home permits obtained. That's an 18 percent increase over the recent 5 year average.

Townhouses - 403 Townhouses (80% Increase over 2018)

Multi-Family/Apt Complexes - 1,455 New Dwelling Units

Hotels - 10 New Hotels

New Schools - 5 New Schools
