Fountain nixes signs in public right-of-way

The Fountain City Council tackled two controversial topics last week: a development plan for a proposed new subdivision at Link and Kane roads, and whether to allow signs in the public right-of-way.
The sign issue, which originally appeared as part of a greater revamped zoning code ordinance, was singled out for fine-tuning so the council could proceed with a vote on the code without getting bogged down by the sign discussions.
Ultimately, the council voted to prohibit residents and businesses from placing any signs in the public right-of-way.
