Police arrest one in fake burglary

Police in Fountain have arrrested a woman in connection with an alleged December burglary, but a male suspect remains at large.

On Dec. 17 in the 400 block of Riverside Lane a burglary of a home was reported. The initial report stated that the home was missing numerous items and the house had been "ransacked."

On Feb. 4, Fountain detectives arrested 26-year-old Alexis Murphy, a resident of the home, on the charges of False Information to a Pawnbroker and Theft.

A second suspect identified as 26-year-old Derrick Washington, who was also a short time resident, has an active arrest warrant for False Information to a Pawnbroker and Theft stemming from the reported burglary. Washington is still currently wanted on these charges, and his whereabouts are unknown.
