City, Fort Carson partner for pest control services

The City of Fountain and Fort Carson have entered into a new partnership that officials say could be the beginning of many collaborations to come.

Last week Mayor Gabriel Ortega and Garrison Commander Col. Brian Wortinger signed an Inter-Governmental Support Agreement (IGSA) whereby the city will provide the Army installation with pest control services for the next 10 years. The city intends to subcontract the work and manage all the details, while the Army will pay roughly $223,000 to $240,000 a year over the decade.
