Ellicott residents gather to make masks for medical personnel, the community

Several Ellicott residents have been busy assembling protective masks for about two weeks now, enlisting the help of family members and friends. Alyssa Cordero started making cloth masks at the start of the quarantine, sending them around the country to friends who are nurses and to doctor's office personnel. As the demand for masks increased, Cordero's children and friends began helping her.
"What started out to be a family project to include close friends turned into a full-time production," said Cordero.
