Virus makes positive impact on crime stats

The Fountain Valley News recently began publishing the total number of calls for service handled by the Fountain Police Department each week, with a breakdown of significant crimes by category (assault, burglary, car break-ins, fraud and vehicle theft).

In recent weeks, those totals have dropped significantly — possibly due to coronavirus fears and the latest statewide stay-at-home order keeping many people away from the public.
