Volunteers work to make masks for first responders

Members of the Fountain Police Department accept the donation of 200 masks from Merry Mask Makers last week.

A volunteer group, Merry Mask Makers of Colorado Springs, is creating cloth masks for health professionals and law enforcement groups. Fountain City Council Member Sharon Thompson discovered Merry Mask Makers several weeks ago when she began researching how to make cloth masks. She learned the team was looking for a certain gauge of aluminum wire they could use in the mask nose pieces.
