Fountain resident arrested in drug, weapons bust

A drug-detection K9 named Sugar, above, helped officers from multiple agencies investigate a parolee living in Fountain, resulting in the seizure of nearly 35 pounds of meth, numerous other drugs and weapons.

Daniel Valentine, a 42-year-old resident of Fountain, has been arrested for possessing drugs and weapons. The Colorado Springs Police Department's Metro Vice, Narcotics, and Intelligence (MVNI) Team arrested Valentine on April 22 and seized the following items:

34.87 pounds of methamphetamine

9.66 pounds of heroin

0.53 pounds of cocaine

1.5 pounds of pressed pills of suspected Fentanyl

four guns, two of which were stolen

$36,992

two vehicles

The total DEA street value of the seizure was $762,130. This estimate does not include the pressed pills since crime labs to have run tests to determin...
