Fire danger up around county

On May 7, two Fountain Valley News staffers stumbled upon an unattended campfire. They were walking in the Adams Open Space behind the Fountain Library when they found it, and described it as "not only smoking but shooting up small flames." Fortunately, the staffers were able to contact the fire department, who contained it quickly. Given its location, things could have gone much worse.
