UPDATE: Fountain Police have arrested two 18-year-olds, Baaron Pittenger and Braeden Kennedy, in connection with a suspicious fire that damaged a new home under construction on Link Road earlier this month.

On May 20 both were arrested and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on the following charges: 1st Degree Arson and Felony Criminal Mischief.

ORIGINAL STORY: An early morning fire on May 12 is being investigated as suspicious, but officials still have no leads or suspects.

Around 3:30 that morning, Fountain Fire Department resaponded to the 8700 block of Link Road in reference to a structure fire. Initial reports stated there was smoke coming from the building, which is currently a new home under construction.

Once on scene, the Fountain Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the fire. However, there was significant damage to the basement of the structure. Upon further investigation, it appears the cause of the fire is suspicious. This is an ongoing investigation by the Fountain Police Department in coordination with the Fountain Fire Department.
