Suspect arrested after theft, hit-and-run in Widefield

Authorities have arrested a suspect who allegedly stole items from a Widefield business, led police on a car chase through the area, and finally escaped on foot after crashing the vehicle. He has been identified as Luke Oehlerking.
On June 2, at about 1:23 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspect stealing clothing items and automotive parts from a store on Widefield Boulevard.
As deputies arrived on scene, the suspect took off in a car and was engaged in a brief pursuit.
