Deputy fired after assault charge

On June 26, Christopher Rogers, 24, a deputy sheriff with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, was charged with third-degree assault and first-degree official misconduct. The criminal investigation was conducted by the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). Rogers was served a summons by CSPD and released on a promise to appear in court. Both are misdemeanor crimes.
