Fountain Electric sets record Council approves several projects to meet utility demands of growing community

At the last Fountain City Council meeting July 14, members voted to approve several measures related to the new East Fountain Substation. The timing was ironic, as the Fountain Electric had just logged a new historical peak demand of 60.5 megawatts on July 10.
The record affirms "continued load growth on the city of Fountain's electric distribution system," Electric Superintendent Carl Christian said.
Demand represents the amount of electricity being consumed by customers at any given time, Christian explained.
