On May 13, at approximately 1:36 p.m., our Communications Center dispatched Manitou Springs Police officers to El Paso Boulevard in Manitou Springs on a Check the Welfare call. After arriving on scene, officers discovered a deceased male inside a residence.

Due to the suspicious circumstances found, Manitou Springs Police Department asked for the assistance of our Investigations Division.

The deceased male has been identified as Darrell Berry, who was 70 years old. We would like to express our sympathies to the friends and family of Mr. Darrell Berry.

Bobby Joe Berry, 43, has been named as a Person of Interest in this case. He is described as a white male, 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, brown hair with blue eyes.

Berry does not have a known associated vehicle, but license plates from the deceased party's vehicle are missing: Colorado license plate 472-VGK.

Berry possibly has friends in the Dallas, Texas, and Borger, Texas, areas. If seen, do not approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous.

Berry previously has been featured in this papers as one of the Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers wanted fugitives for crimes including 1st Degree Burglary, Escape and Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft.
