'Outpost' screening honors fallen soldiers

A Soldier with 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, looks at a memorial display at McMahon Auditorium at Fort Carson Aug. 7 in honor of the 3rd Sqdn., 61st Cav. Reg., Soldiers who were killed in action during the Oct. 3, 2009, Battle of Kamdesh at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan. Current and former Soldiers with the 3rd Sqdn., 61st Cav. Reg., watched "The Outpost" movie, which depicts the Battle of Kamdesh, to honor their heritage and build esprit de corps. The Soldiers spoke with the movie's author, Jake Tapper; director, Rod Lurie; and Medal of Honor Recipient Ty Carter virtually.
