Mesa Ridge athletes ran on Thursday, Aug. 27, in the first cross-country invitational the school has hosted in more than 20 years.
CROSS COUNTRY
Grizzlies host invitational
Mesa Ridge High School hosted its first cross country invitational in 20 years on Aug. 27. Students from Mesa Ridge, Widefield and other schools competed in 5000 meter runs. On the boys' team, Aaron Roberds was the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies' highest scorer, finishing fourth. Brandon Williams, Jr. was the Widefield Gladiators' highest scorer, finishing seventh. On the girls' team, Elizabeth Carlos was the Grizzlies' highest scorer, finishing first. Sophie Mena was the Gladiators' highest scorer, finishing third.
