Backpacks ready to be handed out.

The Salvation Army Fountain Valley Corps - in collaboration with REACH Pikes Peak Fountain Valley, United Way of Colorado Springs, and COSIlOVEYOU - held a drive-through back-to-school event last Saturday. Volunteers provided backpacks stuffed with school supplies and a mask for kids who are going to in-person

learning. They also provided a hot dog lunch complete with chips and a drink. "The line wrapped around the block," Corps Officer Lt. Paul Chisolm said. "We were able to hand out everything we had, no supplies left over. We gave away over 200 backpacks and over 350 hot dog lunches."
