Scouts add new all-girls troop, open for in-person meetings again

Cub scouts from Troop 1911 stand next to bags of weeds they removed during a two-hour weed clean-up event earlier this year at the American Legion. This event took place before COVID-19, and scout leaders are glad to announce Troop 1911 has been cleared to meet again with restrictions.

Scout Pack 911, Fountain's local Scouts group, added an all-girls troop this year. Started in February, Troop 1911 is for female cub scouts (ages 10-18) and part of the larger Pack 911 Sons of the American Legion Squadron 38. Pack 911 is also home to Troop 911, for male cub scouts, and Crew 911, a Venture Crew group for scouts ages 14-21. As a Venture group, Crew 911 is co-ed and focuses more on adventure and leadership activities.
