Fountain's new K-9 has special name

The Fountain Police Department is now the proud owner of a new K-9 who will be trained and certified in narcotics detection. FPD polled its officers to find the right name for their new partner. The final choice has historical significance.

On April 8, 1921, City Marshal John "Jack" Lindamood was shot and killed when he interrupted a burglary in progress at the First National Bank of Fountain. As Marshal Lindamood pointed his flashlight at the suspects, they shot and killed him. 

Marshal Lindamood had been with the Fountain Police Department for six years. He was 45 years old at the time...
