Springs airport begins to see slow but steady increase in travel after shutdown

Colorado Springs — For the month of August, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) saw an increase in enplanements from the previous month, but is continuing to experience a downturn in numbers due to the coronavirus pandemic. In August, COS enplaned 32,692 passengers and a total of 64,621 passengers traveled through the terminal in August.

For year to date, COS’ total passenger count was 472,835, representing a 56.1 percent decrease from 2019. Load factors for the month of August have increased from previous months, but are lower than normal, averaging 69.4 percent for the month and 20.8...
