Homestead Ranch Hike

Saturday, Oct. 10, 9–10:30 a.m.

Homestead Ranch Regional Park

Join El Paso County Parks and the Trails and Open Space Coalition for a hike through Homestead Ranch Regional Park. Located at the edge of Black Forest, this 450-acre park has diverse topography ranging from rolling, open meadows to tree-covered bluffs running the length of the park. Face Masks required. Free for TOSC & El Paso County Parks Nature Center Members, $4 for non-members.


Photography Workshop at Rainbow Falls

Monday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Rainbow Falls Historic Site

Come to check out Rainbow Falls Historic Site through a different view: your camera! Learn tips and get suggestions from Mike Pach of 3 Peaks Photography & Design and get a chance to take pictures of this site unobscured by visitors. $20 per person, for adults 18 and over.


Introduction to Wilderness Survival

Thursday, Nov. 5, 6–8:30 p.m.

Bear Creek Nature Center

Learn the basics of Wilderness survival, such as the Rule of Threes, top 10 must haves in the backcountry, top ten mistakes people make in the outdoors, wild animal safety awareness and more. This class is instructed by Jason Marsteiner, a Colorado Native and owner of The Survival University. $25 per person.


First Aid, CPR, AED Classes

Wednesday, Nov. 18, 6–7:30 p.m.

Bear Creek Nature Center

This American Red Cross course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. This blended learning course includes an online portion that you complete on your own and an instructor-led classroom skill session. Participants must be 16 years or older: $75.
