Juanita C. Birchfield, treasured wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family on September 21, 2020.
Juanita was born in Louisiana on February 14, 1941. Her parents preceded her in death.
Juanita had the pleasure of marrying a serviceman, and had the amazing opportunity to travel the world, eventually settling down in Widefield, Colo., in 1984. She enjoyed many volunteering opportunities in her beloved community of Widefield throughout her years here.
She had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. Juanita has never met a stranger, and was a second mother to so many, and a grandma to everyone. She made everyone who met her smile and feel important. She was a best friend to all of her children and grandchildren. Her jokes and fighting spirit will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.
She leaves behind her loving husband Kermit, and her beloved children Leonard (Nita) Birchfield, Kenneth Birchfield, Jennifer (Matthew) Langley, Steven (Crystal) Birchfield, Steffeni (Jason) Boyer; 13 amazing grandchildren; 3 sisters, 2 brothers and 8 granddogs. She also leaves behind multiple children and grandchildren that were chosen to be a part of her family. Her faithful furry companion, Sarge, joined her in death.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life 5-8 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Hillside Gardens & Events Center, 1006 S. Institute Street, Colorado Springs, Colo 80903. Please wear purple, as it was her favorite color.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her name to Colorado DeMolay and The American Heart Association.
To our Momma and Gramma Coco: We love you, and you will forever be missed. The hole in our hearts can never be filled.
