Pikes Peak Region has busiest construction month in 15 years

EL PASO COUNTY – Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction industry is booming in the Pikes Peak Region, especially when it comes to new homes.

In September, the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department issued 564 single-family-home permits, a 44-percent increase over September of 2019. That is the highest single-family-home permit total since August of 2005, when there were 580 single-family-home permits issued.

Year-to-date, the Department has issued 3,641 single-family-home permits, a 20-percent increase over the same time period in 2019.
