CROSS COUNTRY

Mesa Ridge and Widefield will both participate in the Colorado 4A Region 5 Cross Country held on Oct. 9 at Pueblo City Park. Fountain-Fort Carson will participate in the Colorado 5A Region 5 Cross Country event held tomorrow (Oct. 8) at the Monument Valley Park XC Course.

SOFTBALL

MESA RIDGE

LADY GRIZZLIES GO 2-0

The Lady Grizzlies won 17-3 at Harrison on Sept. 29, then won 17-13 when they hosted Widefield on Oct. 1 in two league games. They return to action when they play at the state softball championships on Oct. 6.

WIDEFIELD

LADY GLADS GO 0-2

The Lady Gladiators lost 5-7 when they hosted Woodland Park on Sept. 29, then lost 13-17 when they played at Mesa Ridge on Oct. 1 in two league games. This concludes their fall softball season, since they will not be going on to the state softball championships.

FOUNTAIN-FORT CARSON

LADY TROJANS GO 2-0

The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans won 12-2 when they hosted Liberty on Sept. 30, then won 17-6 when they hosted Doherty on Oct. 2 in two league games. This concludes their fall softball season, since they will not be going on to the state softball championships.

FOOTBALL

Due to reports of some students at Widefield High School contracting COVID-19, the schedule for Widefield and Mesa Ridge’s first varsity football games has been altered, with Widefield’s schedule moved back two weeks. The following are the upcoming football games:

Mesa Ridge will host Legend on Oct. 9 in a non-league game.

Widefield will host Liberty on Oct. 23 in a league game.

Fountain-Fort Carson will host Coronado on Oct. 9 in a non-league game.
