Water treatment plant for Security nearly complete

Crews under contract with the U.S. Air Force recently worked on Security Boulevard right in front of the water district's office to install pipeline for the new water treatment facility.

There is about $60 million worth of work being done between the water and wastewater systems in Security right now.

But officials say Security tap water is safe to drink now, even without that new infrastructure.

"I do it every day," said Roy Heald, general manager for the Security Water and Sanitation Districts.
