The city of Fountain Fire Department has teamed up with El Paso County Public Health to provide a COVID-19 test site for the Fountain area. The test site is at Fountain Fire Station #1 (811 N. Santa Fe Ave.) and operates Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The site opened on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

No insurance or referrals are required for testing. John Trylch, the city's community engagement manager, confirmed that the testing site is free, and explained that the site uses a "drive-up" model where customers stay in their cars as they get tested. Trylch also said that authorities were starting to receive initial feedback, which was that "the process was very smooth," and people were having a positive experience.

To pre-register or learn more, visit elpasocountyhealth.org. Drop-ins are also welcome, but the site may be closed during inclement weather (check El Paso County Public Health's website for lists of any weather-related closures). All testing site protocol is run through El Paso County Public Health, so for any questions about testing procedure or operations, contact the county: https://www.elpasocountyhealth.org/covid-19-testing-information
