Widefield boxer moving to professional level

Luis Joe Ybarra Jr., a 2019 graduate from Widefied High school, is preparing to start his career as a professional boxer. His father, Luis Joe Ybarra Sr., runs Ybarra's Boxing Club in Widefield and has been his son's trainer for some time.

Luis started boxing at his father's club when he was 7 years old. From there he proceeded on an excellent amateur boxing career, including matches in the United States, Mexico, China and Ireland.

Among other honors, he received eight Colorado State Golden Gloves and Silver Gloves Championship awards. In 2017, he ranked no. 1 in the Junior 125-pound categ...
