Officer Becerra and K-9 Moody recently completed K-9 training and have hit the streets of Fountain.

Officer Becerra and K-9 Moody are certified with the National Police Canine Association in the detection of illegal narcotics.

Officer Becerra has been with the Fountain Police Department for approximately 2 ½ years and has approximately 6 ½ years of law enforcement experience. Officer Becerra also spent 2 ½ years as a K-9 handler with the U.S. Air Force.

FPD officers were polled to choose their new K-9's name, and they decided to name Moody in honor of former City Marshal John 'Jack' Lindamood, who was shot and killed when he interrupted a burglary in progress at the First National Bank of Fountain in 1921. FPD named Moody to recognize Lindamood's line-of-duty death, which is coming up on its 100th anniversary.
