Programs require pre-paid registration. Due to COVID-19, programs are subject to cancellation. Call the Nature Center or check website for current status. Masks or cloth face coverings required.

Nature Adventures: Burly Bears

Thursdays, December 3 & 17, 10–11:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Nature’s Ornaments Workshop

Saturday, December 5, 9–11:30 a.m.

Hold the plastic, please! These ornaments might be good enough to eat! We’re getting festive with home-made, natural ornaments you can hang indoors or out. After our lesson and crafting time we’ll take a guided hike. $5 per person.

Active Adults: Crafting a Decorative Yule Log

Saturday, December 5, 1–3:30 p.m.

For thousands of years, yule logs have been part of winter solstice and holiday celebrations. Learn about the origins of this tradition, then raft a yule log that could be a table centerpiece or a yule log in your fireplace. Ages 16 and up. $15/person, $10/member.

2s & 3s Outdoors: Mighty Migrators

Thursdays, December 10 & 31, 10–11:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Nature Hikes with Santa

Saturdays, December 12 & 19, 10–11:30 a.m. & 1–2:30 p.m.

Santa Claus is coming to Fountain Creek Nature Center! While we wait on him, we’ll have an interactive reading of the classic holiday poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Once Santa arrives we’ll hike the nature trail with him to see what gifts nature gives us. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy seasonal tunes with Pepper Grass Band and make paper snowflakes.$5/person, $4/member.
