In Loving Memory of Wilbur GLENN Russell

July 16, 1929 – December 16, 2020

Wilbur GLENN Russell was born July 16, 1929, to Orin Benton Russell and Velma Lois Counts Russell in Hereford, Texas. He passed away on December 16, 2020, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Glenn had six children: Glenna, Darrell, Diana, Daniel (d. 1976), James (d. 1962) and Deborah. He was the proud patriarch of five generations. He leaves behind six granddaughters and one grandson, Joe (d. 1999); eight great-grandchildren (three girls, five boys), and four great-great-grandchildren (two boys, two girls); along with many, many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Clifford Russell, his brother, and Francis IRENE Hunter Russell, Glenn's wife.

Glenn was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and the Southern Baptist Church. He was always a member or leader of the choir wherever his membership took him. His southern charm and kind nature endeared him to anyone who met him. Always an adventurer, his first daring feat happened when he was a young man and became a private plane pilot. He survived the only crash he was ever involved in near Lubbock, Texas. The only evidence of the crash was a damaged plane and a small scar on his nose.

Of course he will be missed. Our lives have changed with his transition, but of course, his has changed as well. His life will be celebrated in July 2021 thanks to the Fountain Valley Baptist Church, Fountain, Colorado. Details will follow.

The family would like to thank Life Care of Colorado Springs, Compassus Hospice and the ministerial providers from the Fountain Valley Baptist Church for their kindness and care of Glenn.
