Local artwork vandalized

This horse is part of an artwork structure made of sheet metal, located at the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and Crest Drive in Fountain. Another section depicting a kneeling cowboy is currently being repaired following vandalism, while a different section depicting a cross has reportedly been missing for months.

On Jan. 14, a resident contacted the Fountain Valley News to inquire about a piece of artwork located on South Santa Fe Avenue (next to the intersection with Crest Drive, before the I-25 overpass). The art piece is made of sheet metal and shows a cowboy kneeling at a cross with a horse behind him. The horse section is still standing, the cross section has reportedly been missing for some time and the cowboy section recently disappeared.

Jim Watson, superintendent of Fountain Parks, said he wasn't sure about the cross, but that the cowboy had been vandalized and was being repaired. The vanda...
