Wildfires & Watersheds: New science brings new insights

Eventually, the efforts of our firefighters and winter storms will extinguish the raging wildfires in Colorado. Even while some areas are still smoldering, hydrologists may carefully enter burn areas to gather soil samples. Why? Because post-fire erosion and sedimentation directly impact our state's watersheds and water quality.
