Veteran home repair program now accepting applications for assistance

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for the Veteran Critical Home Repair Program now through April 15. Habitat’s Veteran Critical Home Repair program focuses on exterior work such as painting, grading and drainage, gutters and downspouts, replacement of siding, fencing, roof repair or replacement, as well as exterior needs related to handicap accessibility.

Here are some requirements/eligibility criteria:

• Must be veteran and have either an honorable or general discharge

• Own and occupy home

• Income qualify

• All property owners are subject to a Sex Offender Registry check

• Property must be located in El Paso County

• Mortgage payments must be current

• Must be able to provide certificate of current homeowner’s insurance

Mobile home repairs are not included.
