Sexual assault awareness month kicks off at Fort Carson

Fort Carson is conducting 2021 Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) with a guest speaker, a new training program for leaders and Soldiers and multiple unit events scheduled throughout April.

The month-long observance kicked off Thursday with an appearance by Edward Wilson, an Army veteran and performing artist, at McMahon Auditorium. Known by his stage name "Obbie West," Wilson has toured the world using his passion for poetry to convey messages of sexual violence prevention and awareness.
