What does it take to tie the knot?

With spring in the air and a year’s worth of regulations receding, many people are thinking about finally tying the knot. While some may not know this, the process for a civil union in Colorado is actually pretty simple. Both persons must be at least 18 years old (16- and 17-year-olds must contact juvenile court) and they cannot be related as siblings, ancestors and descendents, uncle and nieces, or aunts and nephews. Blood tests are not required. No witnesses are required for the civil union, although some courts and judges may ask for one. People can solemnize the civil union themselves...
