An upcoming job fair will focus on employment needs of the 55-and-over population.

Catholic Charities Hanifen Employment Center is holding its second post-COVID-19 job fair on Thursday, Aug. 19, from 2-4 p.m. at the Marian House Kitchen, 14 W. Bijou St., Colorado Springs.

While the fair is open to anyone, it will cater to the special needs of the adult 55-plus population, who are looking for opportunities to supplement their retirement savings.

During the event, attendees can:

• meet with prospective employers

• register for a variety of job skills classes: computer skills (including keyboarding), life skills, resume writing, and interviewing help

• schedule appointments to get career counseling or help with creating a resume

Employers expected to attend include:  Service Source, Sodexo D-20 Food Service, Goodwill of Colorado, Apprentice Personnel, Luce Research, Garden of the Gods Resort, Nursing & Therapy Services, McDonald’s Restaurant, and Amazon Fulfillment Center.

COVID-19 precautions in place will include mandatory masks and social distancing.

The Hanifen Employment Center will continue to offer small, targeted job fairs to address the special needs of targeted populations.
