Special message to military veterans and first responders

On Friday, Sept. 10, Fountain Public Safety departments will be having a rolling parade to honor our many military veterans and first responders.

"We want you to know how much the City of Fountain appreciates your service to our country and to our community," organizers said.

The event will begin around noon. Look for special displays on police and fire vehicles traveling along the following streets and intersections.

"Due to time constraints and staffing we are very sorry that we are not able to visit every neighborhood," a spokesperson said. "We devised the best route to cover the majority of the city."

On Saturday, Fountain Public Safety will hold a cookout for all military veterans and first responders from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fire Station 1. The event will include a remembrance of 9/11.
