A man is in custody after police say they found evidence of child sexual abuse in a Fountain home.
Colorado Springs Police Department arrested Daniel Joseph Montano, 42, on charges related to producing and possessing child sexual abuse material.
In June 2021, investigators with the Colorado Springs Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant on Camino Del Rey. A child victim in the home was identified and is now safe, police said.
Digital Forensic Unit (FIU) detectives thoroughly examined several items seized during the search warrant and located evidence that led investigators to seek an arrest warrant for Montano, police said.
The Colorado Springs Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is comprised of investigators with the Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and Special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
