Fountain: This city has come a long way

This letter is complimentary to our City Councils, past and present. I was a newcomer in 1977 and an old-timer 44 years later. In 1977, Fountain resembled a small third world country. We had a small Police Department and an all-volunteer Fire Department. Two men were here on a Federal Grant as apprentices. The city jail was a tragedy. The North city limit was just past the Methodist Church. A drive down Missouri Street was picturesque, where almost every house had a junk car in the front yard. Ohio was not much better with a third class motor home park as its star attraction! Main...
