Fountain man arrested for alleged child exploitation

A Fountain man has been arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of children.
On Oct. 14, investigators with the Colorado Springs Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a warrant at the 900 block of Candlestar Loop North in Fountain. According to a statement by the Colorado Springs Police Department, evidence recovered during the search warrant led to the arrest of 51-year-old Daniel Lee Atkinson of Fountain on charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.
FPD's Investigations and DICE units assisted in the search warrant and arrest of Atkinson. Fountain PD is an affiliate agency of the Colorado ICAC Task Force.
The Colorado Springs ICAC Task Force is comprised of members from the Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations.
