County to up enforcement of speeding, distracted driving

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has launched additional traffic enforcement efforts thanks to two grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTSA). These grants are administered by the state of Colorado. Combined, they provide the EPSO with over $400,000 dollars to help combat excessive speed, distracted drivers and impaired drivers. El Paso County infamously is a state leader in motor vehicle crash fatalities, in part because of poor driving behaviors such as these.
