Fountain's Police Explorers achieve major milestones

This Fountain Police Explorer Team won first place in Domestic Violence Scenario at the Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisors Association of Colorado (LEEPAAC) 2021 Regional Conference this summer.

The Fountain Police Explorers program crossed a huge milestone in October, when it was announced that Police Explorer graduate Austin Starnes was chosen as a new hire for the Fountain Police Department (FPD). Starnes became a Police Explorer in 2015 (the year that the program started), when he was 16 years old. He is currently attending the police academy and will turn 21 in January 2022, the month he starts working for the FPD.

FPD Chief Chris Heberer was enthusiastic about the news.

"That day will be an extremely proud day for me and our entire organization," he said.
