A UH-1Y Venom helicopter and AH-1Z Viper helicopter assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 269 fly over Fort Carson on Nov. 10. Marines with HMLA-269 trained in a cold-weather, high-altitude environment to increase proficiency in expeditionary advanced basing operations (EABO). HMLA-269 is a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, the aviation combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force.

There has been a flurry of activity in local skies recently, as U.S. Marines have been busy conducting special training in air space over the Fountain Valley and surrounding military bases.
