By Julie K. Shavin

Hi folks, wishing you a happy holiday. Could someone give Roka a reason to be thankful? She is a gentle girl, with a relaxed take on life. This means she has a slow pace and a chill personality, a sun-lover who loves attention, all of which are like yours truly (am also available; don't need treats, just sunblock).

She's about 3 years old, spayed and up to date on vaccinations. We don't really know how she is with other pets, but she's good with kids.

Every dog always involves taking somewhat of a chance (feel free to ask me about my crazy Halo beastie), of course. Now, if you want to foster, vs. adopt, that will work! But if you adopt, and a dog does not work out, let us know within a couple of weeks; animals can come back to us and hopefully we can find you a better match.

AARF has many needs at this time. Here are a few ideas for those able to help:

Computer help – Need computer-savvy persons for fliers/handouts, cool and eye-catching graphics, creative marketing/posting.

Help with transport of dogs.

Occasional Saturday volunteers.

We also appreciate any kind of donations: food, supplies, toys, crates, cash. Thanks in advance so much for your holiday generosity.

AARF has other dogs and puppies available, in addition to our features, and some features are still waiting. For instance, ask us about Toby and Oliver.

We hold adoption fairs at Petsmart on Powers Saturdays 11-2: 2965 N New Center Pt., Colorado Springs, CO 80922. More info: Julie at 375-1200 or Cathy at 761-5320. Email: [email protected] or [email protected] Facebook: AARF Colorado; website:
