Traffic sting operation nets several citations, one arrest

On Wednesday, Nov. 24, the Fountain Police Department conducted a traffic safety operation on Hwy. 85 and I-25 that resulted in one arrest and numerous citations.

“Multiple vehicles were cited for traveling over 90 mph, and one vehicle was cited for traveling over 100 mph,” an FPD report said.

Full results included:

17 vehicles were contacted for speeding

11 contacts were made for expired or no vehicle registration

9 moving violations (no turn signal, running red lights, and careless driving)

3 contacts were made for vehicle equipment issues (tail light and headlights)

3 drivers were cited for having a suspended driver’s license

1 person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

FPD asks the public to call 911 to report aggressive drivers and/or drunk drivers.
