On Monday morning, a gas leak was detected at Fountain Middle School. Students inside the school were evacuated to the football field outside by noon. Public service and Fountain Fire Department vehicles arrived to block off the parking lot and assess the situation.

The school reported that a gas main had broken at the corner of Alabama and Santa Fe avenues.
